Have You Met Jesus?
The Truth About Who You Are
The Bible tells us that, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). We were all born sinners, rebellious and completely cut off from God. Our sin is not essentially about what we do but who we are. This sin is a nature deeply rooted in our being and produces sinful actions in us – murder, hatred, deceit, envy, sexual immorality, greed, bitterness, anger, stealing, cheating and so many other sins like these.
God created us for His pleasure but we went on our own way, living life on our terms, cut off from the very source of life and embracing death. The consequences that follow – addictions, pain, sorrow, hopelessness, depression – are just the beginning of a life of eternal separation from God that ends in Hell.
Enter, the Love of God
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, and whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
In as much as this Bible verse is commonly quoted, it holds a truth that liberates. The truth is this: God loves the whole world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in His Son will live eternally. Anyone who doesn’t believe will perish. However, in John 3:17, we’ll see that:
“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.”
This means that God’s intention for sending His Son to the world was not to condemn you, but to actually save you from your sins and restore you to a relationship with Himself, through His Son.
So, who is this Son?
Jesus Christ, The Son of God
Jesus Christ is that Son of God who came to save us and He is indeed God Himself.
How do we know? John 1:1 tells us that:
“In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.”
In John 1:14, we learn that this Word became flesh and dwelled among humans:
Furthermore, Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 that:
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”, confirming that he is truly the Son of God, the only Way to God and the source of Eternal Life.
"What does this have to do with me?"
We’re glad you’re asking this question. God really went to great lengths to make sure you come to know Him, experience His Love and live for His glory. Are you ready to receive God’s forgiveness and freedom from sin? Are you tired of living a life with no hope, no purpose and no real joy? Do you want to really get to know God and make the most of this one life you have? Hear what Jesus has to say to you:
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
It doesn’t matter how far you’ve gone or how hopeless you feel. Jesus is calling you to lay it all down at the Cross and REST.
Are you ready to make the best decision of your life? All you need to do is CONFESS and BELIEVE.
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Prayer of Salvation
Thank You Jesus for Your Love. I believe that I am a sinner but You paid the great sacrifice for my sins. Today, I believe in my heart that according to your Word, You died on the cross and resurrected on the third day to give me a new life. I receive You into my heart to be the Lord of my life.
Thank You because according to Your Word, anyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. I declare that I am saved! I am forgiven! I am free! I am now a child of God. I have a God’s Spirit within me. This I receive because I’ve prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen. Hallelujah!
Prayer For Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Lord Jesus, I believe it is Your desire to fill me with Your Spirit, as Your Word says,
“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11).
Lord I desire that You baptize me with the Holy Spirit. Fill me up with Your power from above. I believe that I receive the fullness of Your Spirit to completely overwhelm me, with evidence of speaking in other tongues as You give me utterance. In Jesus name. Amen. Hallelujah!
Congratulations! Welcome to the family.
